Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) engine surging in 5th and 6th

truck has around 85k miles edge comp, fass fuel, and dd3s. the truck surges in a range of about 200 rpm under hard accelleration in 5th and 6th. comp box disconnected and problem persists considerably worse with a trailer. truck is not showing an engine light however shows a 0500 code. the speedometer functions properly and sender has been replaced. wondering where to look next. any help would be appreciated

Good Day I have the same problem with my truck and I Had adjusted the APPS and it helped a bit. So if any one has the fix let us know
