My buddy is in the middle of swapping the engine out of a 2000 (manual trans. ) into his '99 (auto. trans. ). The #6 piston burned out in his. Everything is going smooth except the 2000 motor doesn't have a crank position sensor. This was the last thing that I considered when planning this thing, I didn't even know that they stopped using the crank position sensor.
Anyway, does anyone know the easiest way to get this thing going? Will a non-crank sensor ECM work in the existing wire loom? Or do I need to swap the crank and sensor out of the '99 into the 2000 motor (@#%! I hope not)? I don't know of any other options.
I don't know any other resource to even ask about this so any help you guys can give me is very much appreciated.
