I have read a couple of replies that have said that retarded timing is the best for diesel engines. I know that the EZ and TT both advance timing. Is this a bad thing? I'm not wanting to turn a 400k mile engine into a 200k mile engine.
DC retards the timing to keep the NOX emissions down to comply with the latest regs. They could care LESS about performance i. e. the lower fuel MPG this creates.
I have read that the EZ not only advances timing, it also lowers EGT's and increases MPG slightly. Idles smoother/quieter too.
