Can you guys give me some info please? I am trying to buy a 2004 with the "600" Cummins with the 48RE and the non slip rear end. Question is, with the non slip rear end, will the axle ratio still be 3. 73????? I do not want a 4. 10... Thnaks for all the help you guys have given me... .

Superdave, I have a 2004. 5 2500 with the 600 and 48re on order and it has the 3. 73 AND the limited slip. So, it's definitely available in that configuration.

Thanks... Is this new rear end the american rather than the Dana hybrid?

Yes it is the AAM axle. Do a search about the way the anti-spin works it's different than how the Dana worked as it does not use clutches. unsure exactly how it works but supposedly no wear item(s)

The Dodge build-your-own website is screwed up and won't let you spec a Cummins with 3. 73's. They are definetly available as I have 3. 73's with limited slip. The 3. 73's are sweet.

Unless our's doesn't come in the way we ordered it, we're getting the 2004. 325/600 Cummins, 48RE and the non slip rear end. We got the trailer tow package, also, but our copy of the order placed with DC states 3. 73 rear end.

I hear about all you guys who have one on order. . This is my tale... The three dealers I priced with all had a certian amount off MSRP, like $8000. 00..... Also 0% for 48 months... The problem is what I want is a 3500 dually with the Laramie H pkg, which pretty well loads it out, plus about 6 more individual items... . There are only 2 like I want in 3 states and none of the dealers want to trade with my dealer. My dealer wants to sell me something else rather than order one. I do not understand that. I always thought the dealer made more on an order trailer than one he had in stock (holdback). Guess I am just dumb. . Never know what a dealer is going to do I guess... Since my 99 is great shape, I do not need the new one right away. I can wait 6 weeks for a new one, but dealer says no, he will find me one... . You guys have any problems like that? The additions we want are the anti-slip, 3. 73, heated seats, tow hooks, electric tow mirrors, tow package, and a couple of other things. Doesn't seem like that big a deal to me.

Don't let the dealer try and sell you something you don't want, I ordered one just as I want it. My dealer never even mentioned anything about making a dealer trade for a similiar truck, he just sat me down and pulled the order sheet. That's the way it should work.
