EGT's seem way too high under normal driving circumstances?

Well gents... Just got back from talking with the dealership about the fate of my baby... . Apparently the rough idle and vibration that I have been experiencing for the past week or so is not being created by the injectors as I have been hoping... According to them the problem lies in cylinders 2 and 5... They r going to run a compression test in the morning because they r fairly certain that my baby has internal engine damage  :( ... The cylinder head in coming off on monday... If the problem is the head then I should have my truck back in a week... Heaven forbid that the problem is the block because then it could be up to a month if not longer...

Truck only has 7k on the clock... I think Im gonna go cry now...

I'm going to cry with you. Sorry to hear about your baby being sick. Makes my oil leak @ front crank seal seem like a very small problem. Keep us up to date on the problem.

Been there and I fill your pain, hope that it all will work out! I had #5 piston burnt (my own stupidity) but hey look on the bright side, I know have way to much money in this thing to ever sell! Ha!

Goodluck,

Well... according to the dealership all fuel system tests were normal... They talked to STAR and STAR said to run some of their fuel additive and see if it helps... I told the dealership to keep the truck and I would call the regional office to see what can be done about this... I did not pay 40k for a truck only to have Chrysler tell me to fix it myself... Especially with only 7k on the clock...

The saga continues...

be careful as they will void the warranty for just a exhaust and intake as they did it to me after 2 melted pistons 20k miles and now since i tried a suit they voided the whole warranty not just drive train. by the way do you have slow take off or smoke more than usual?

Well, I just got a call from my dealership. My truck has lots of blowby, and is blowing oil. Around 26,000 on it. They said they changed the oil, and they want me to drive it for a while and see if it does it again. . haha. . Kinda funny, but not really...

I'm on week #3 now of not having my truck..... short in a wiring harness fried the ECM. ofcourse, all at my cost #@$%!

be glad for warranties, if you have one.

Please, need more info especially on smarty,

like what levels, towing, other mods etc,

Help out your fellow Smarty owners...
Probably not the cause , but every little info helps...

i had the same problem mine smokes white in the morning and idles a lil rough. i have 2700 miles on mine i brough it in and had it reflashed it helped alil but not where i think a 38k truck should run like and that is the same response i got put some fuel additives in it. your lucky i dont even think my dealer tested my fuel system. keep us posted about what happens and do you think the smarty caused the problem. i know that there is a good chance that it didnt because i have bought dodges (04. 5) and from the factory had a bad injector.
