Anyone have any ideas of where the oil could be going? I have 129000 kms on the truck and warranty time is running out. In 4000 kms i had to add a litre twice. The truck is not running hot,good power good oil pressure. , and isnt blowing smoke, still stock. I am wondering if this has something to do with the intermittent engine noise. Had it to the dealer for the second time about the noise they cant figure it out. I left in disgust and drove 300 kliks to the closest Cummins shop. The tech support manager came out and found a blown exaust seal in under a minute. We used his temp gun to verify. He told me to get rid of the mopar oil filter ASAP. Gonna get it fixed under warranty this week. He also showed me some warranty horror stories regarding DC where there was documented" cant find the problem" multiple times , and then 2000kms over warranty valve stem broke and cracked block. DC says too bad warranty is over , i dont want this happening to me. He says demand for it to be fixed before warranty is over, make the noise go away, haha sure easier said than done but that is my next mission. I bought this truck for the engine mostly although i love the styling of the truck i have had to replace a lot of things in 11 months such as,
muffler (defective baffle, vibration drove me crazy)
track bar (replaced with moog , zerk fitting)
oil pressure sensor
rear axel seal (drivers side)
backup light switch
DRL light switch
Front crank seal
valve cover seal
belt
front pads (twice, different brands still pulls to the right and squeaks in traffic)
exaust seals (being done this week)
steering box adjustment (TSB being done this week)
Fuel sending unit(definetley on its way out goes on the blink every few days)
Whats next is there anything else i can expect. With all this said and done,(dont mean to ramble on) i love my truck. i just hope i dont have to keep repeating the same repairs.
