Was on a return trip from New Mexico and pulling a trailer with about 6000#. This was the same load that I had just taken to New Mexico with no problems. Was almost 3/4

of the way home when on a steep grade the truck started to vibrate/rattle. almost like it was running on 4 cyclinders.

I backed off of the throttle and it seemed to go away. Put my foot back into it and it happened again. I thought it might be bad fuel so I stopped at an auto parts store and

bought something that is supposed to take water out of the fuel. Added that to the tank and since then have filled up again. The truck seems to drive fine so far but I havent

pulled any weight with it yet. I was wondering about others experience with bad fuel and what they did to remedy the problem. Does my problem sound as if it might be bad

fuel or something else.

Thanks

Bad fuel???

Fuel pressure has been rock steady at 15+ psi since I installed the AirDog system. I had bleed the water seperator

into a clear jar and I cant tell if theres water or not. I dont see any seperation,It all looks like diesel fuel. How much water would it take to cause a problem?I plan on taking my trailer out later this week to see if its still doing it.

I guess thats another question. If there is water in my fuel should the truck run rough all the time?

Thanks

Mike

Water will look like air bubbles, but they'll settle to the bottom. If you don't see the bubbles (let it set for a few minutes to be sure) it's either all diesel or all water, and if it's all water the truck wouldn't be running at all!
