Anything below 25 degrees I need to give it a little throttle or it will not fire. Even after it starts if I let up for the first 30-60 secs it will die. Any ideas on this? If it runs a minute or so it will then idle ok.

First you may have to increase your idle rpm, second if it takes awhile for the truck to stay running you could have a leak somewhere in the system. Depending on your year check the fuel return line. It has ruined more than one persons day! :)

Wouldnt I have a long crank time or stumbling if the return line was leaking? It starts instant but needs a little throttle.

When the weather was cool. . mine would do the same thing until I increased the idle from a warm idle of 600 up to 750-800 rpms. That seemed to cure my problem...

Are you running stock injectors and d-valves?

If not, some of the higher output injectors need a bit of throttle at startup.

With my setup (191's and D3's) I have to give the pedal just a little nudge all the time.

If your stock, I'd check your rubber lines. A hole big enough to cause a problem may not be big enough to see easily and the hoses are tough enough to get to that if you're any bit in doubt, just replace them and eliminate that as a possible souce and then go from there.

Ever since I put 370's in, mine is the same way even with new rubber fuel lines. If it was air getting into the fuel system, I would think you would notice it above 25 degrees. The trick is to crack the throttle just enough to fire yet not overrev to much.

Increase idle!!!

Unless I have a very unusual truck, mine starts without any throttle assistance down to -20. Adding a little then helps.

Mine idles over 800 probably closer to 900. Helps for quick starts.

Pretty easy to see if increased idle helps. You can always set the idle lower and add some throttle.
