Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) engine won't start

'99 pulled in to fuel up started to leave and nothing

but spining of the starter no smoke plenty of fuel to

the vp the check engine light is let with the key in the

'on' postion i had a spare cam sensor put in and nothing

happed. its getting fuel up to injectors but seems low vol

low psi took overflow out and seems small amout of fuel

is coming out of vp with the lift pump runing

checked fuse rely



what am i missing



hope its not the vp its never had a box

and fuel filter is serviced reguler thanks

On a 99 you will need a code reader to get the codes. If you are close to a wall mart they have a code reader that I use for under $100 or some Auto Zone will rent the code reader.



Sounds like a VP 44. My 01 did the same thing about 3 weeks ago. Pulled a 1688 code (injection pump electronic module). Had to replace the VP 44.

Most of the Kragens, Auto Zones, etc. . will let you use their code readers for a returnable deposit... just did it myself today... PO216... not what I wanted too see, but expected it. .
