I have a 1993 Dodge W-350. Last night, I went to start it up and all the accessory lights come on including "Wait To Start". The key turns to the start position and nothing. Once the key is in the start position, it feels really loose in a turning sense. It goes all the way to the end of the key position and doesen't do anything. The truck has 220,000 miles. Could it be the key switch, fuel shutoff solenoid, etc. ? This is just odd for it to stop starting, TIA.

Since you mentioned the sw. felling odd , that my be , use a test lite to see if power gets to the starter , with the key in the start pos. , if not then follow back to key , some have a relay on fire wall , not sure about your yr.
Wiring diagram would tell you what color to check at bottom of steering column coming from sw.

mine did that a few months ago, replaced the key switch[no fix] then found a burnt fusible link out by the relays mounted on the left fender. fixed the link and the no start prob.

Try putting it in Neutral to see if maybe the neutral safety switch is going out

I know mine does that every now and then also .

Kind of a stupid question, but never had a fusible link go bad. How do you tell if the link is bad/burnt?

Put a test lite on the wire after the fusible link , and tug slightly on the wire , if lite does not lite or goes out , its bad .

If the key feels like it has very little resistence in the start position you could have lost the bottom of the tumbler assy most likely. I had that happen last fall.

Some of the syptoms I had was intermittent fail to start or the starter shutting off while in the start position. It showed these syptoms for about 2 weeks then it lost start completely.

A fast trip to my local dealer and I was back up and running.
