Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) enviroguard bottle replasment

If you are going to install the new fleetguard enviroguardthis is what I run into. A call to fleetguard after trying ever thing on TDR . I was told to remove the power stering pump, all wires that are in the way. When drill a small hole into the plug and install a screw in hole. A sliding hamer would have been nice put a punch under the truck on the screw work ok. With plug remove still had to rem out top of whole to install tub. About 4 hr after trying ever thing on TDR. day and haft all told. The most I have ever work for a free gift from maymadness. Hope it works. H Anderson

HAnderson, I used an 8mm bolt which almost wanted to thread into the top hat looking soft plug. Then from under the truck I used a 12 to 18" chisel and put a side load on the head of the bolt which caused it to bind in the plug and drove it up & out easily from under the truck. Then I took a 3/8" bolt with grease on the threads to pull the left over red lock-tite out of the hole. This worked great for me and I spent about 20 minutes with the install. Also I've run the enviroguard for about a year and I ended up adding an 18 to 20" piece of hose to the end of the vent hose and ran it down in front of the steering box below the frame. After period of time I noticed some build up on top of the steering box from the exiting vapors.

I was told by Cummins NW that the install was 6 YES that's CORRECT - 6 HOURS!

Six hrs would be pushing it . onces I now what to do it took about 3 hrs. email me if i can help. Howard
