Project to make remote mount stereo face

I have been looking at some equipment consoles to put in my truck. I have 2 radios (vhf, 800 mhz) and a scanner to mount along with a switch box in my 2001. All the ones I have looked at (Havis-Shields, Jotto-Desk, etc... ) seem as if the transfer case lever might interfer with them.

Has anybody had any experience doing this same project? I am doing this project because for 14 days of the week (edit:month) I am a paramedic with the county and usually go straight to the scene with my ALS equipment since the nearest ambulance service is 20 miles away. The other 14 I am an offshore paramedic in the Gulf of Mexico.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I built my own and spent a lot time making it. However, I have a clear floor space to work with. There are some old pics on my website with no equipment installed. I have since added an altimeter, Espar control timer, and a Uniden BC-780XLT scanner. There is still more room and I plant to add a Brakesmart controler and probably some more items.

I'll have to update my pics with the equipment installed but it should give you some ideas, although I'm not sure how you'll deal with the transfer case shifter.

I found an old 10" Jotto Desk sloped console. I am going to see how it fits and what modifications it will need.

Nice console TBrennan!! How you will post some updated pics.

Hey CMacKenzie,

I have heard the stories about everything in texas being bigger but a 28 day week?

P. S. I am a paramedic too and run into the same situations with trying to fit everything in the truck.
