:{ Since it got bitter outside here in the last couple weeks I have notice that the boost is around 20 psi at full throttle. Also when its warmer out the boost will go back to the normal 32+ psi. Anyone else having this issue?
 
Yes, I have seen this on my 05 as well. When its warm, boost will spike at 30-33 then settle at 25-30. Now when its cold, it spikes at about 25 then settles at 22. I really don't think its a gelling problem since I have never had a gelling issue before and I run Primrose 409 additive which is supposed to lower the gelling point of the fuel.



Anyone else?

After submitting my previous post, I got to thinking that it could possibly be an air density issue because as air gets colder it also increases in density. I don't know, maybe the ECM sees the higher air density and wastegates the turbo accordingly? Someone with more experience will chime in.

Our experience has shown the MAT (the temperature portion of the combo boost/intake temp sensor on the manifold) can cause the wastegate to open when the temperature is below a certain point.



The IAT sensor may also cause this, but the MAT is where we have seen it happen.
 
my 05 does the same thing. spikes around 32 when warm out and settles around 27-28. when its cold out, say below 30 degrees it spikes barely at 30 and settles in mid to low 20's. second winter i had the truck and has not changed any.
 
Boost fooling or a "boost fooler" may not actually help this situation.



We have a wastegate controller that we will be coming out with soon that will give you complete control over the wastegate on 04. 5+ trucks, and will make this problem disappear.
