AutoMeter Gauge "Z" Series Boost - Help

19.5" Michelin Tire Question

Not too long ago I had some gauges installed, among them a differential temperature gauge. Lately, the indicator needle will experience small (20 degrees or so) but rapid deflections and then stabalize again. Any ideas? Anybody know the charateristics of deflections if it is a bad ground or power connection? In other words, would the meter fail low, high, or as is.

An autometer vendor rep can jump in here any time if they have some technical info. Thanks!

On that gauge, if you ground out the sensor wire to the chasis, the needle should go to full sweep. So if the guage is bouncing, could be a bad ground. If your test goes to full sweep, then the gauge is fine. You'll need a better ground. We've done a write up on our installation sheets page that might help.
