I have an '06 3500 megacab 4x4 with approximately 86,000 miles and the following mods; edge w/monitor, smarty, ts performance shift point adjuster, jacobs exh. brake, banks exh. ,banks intercooler/elbow,bd valve body and convertor,265/70/19. 5 tires, mag hytec dbl dp pan, extra trans cooler w/thermo controlled fan, original 4. 10 gears, ddp 50 h. p. injectors, ats turbo, and other odds and ends that don't pertain? The problem I've been encountering is that with the extra power[ 403 hp/1033tq ],under light throttle, the trans wants to shift back and forth between 2nd and 3rd at times and then other times seems o. k. Before installing a gear vendors o. d. , I was always running the exh. brake, which seems to hide the shifting problem, that's when I installed the ts shift point adjuster, but it holds 2nd too long when it's set on the middle setting and the first setting doesn't seem any different. I've replaced the governor solenoid pack and the throttle valve acctuator with no change and then began to wonder if it could have to do with a t. p. s. /a. c. c. p. , but the dealership parts dept. could'nt find a listing for such a device. I found a part # on the accelerator pedal assembly[53032794ab] which they said is not a good #. They said Chrysler said that there is an accp, but is only serviced with the entire brake/accelerator pedal assembly[apparently due to the adjustable pedal opt. ] and it's on national back order and around $250. 00 to boot! I'm not ruling out a hard part problem, just trying to see if anybody else has delt with something like this? I've been researching/experimenting with this for about a year and figure if it was the trans. it woud have took a dump by now. Btw, I've serviced this trans every 20,000 mi and the bd parts have been in for about 60,000 mi. Any thoughts/advise would be greatly appreciated!

Most of the time the governor pressure solonoid and the temp transducer will fail within there range and cause the erratic shift symptoms.

We replace them every 50-80k and all works well.

You have enough mods it may be worth investing in the upgraded gov solenoid as the OEM stuff just does not work as well as it could in all conditions.

Suncoast and DTT use a custom plate with a BorgWarner solenoid while PATC is using a GM solenoid. In addition to that have you adjusted the front band and verified it is not out of spec? You may have to drop the pan and VB to replace the actuator, band strut, and the servo cover to completely solve this problem.

Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely look into the upgraded parts!Btw, I have adjusted the front band, probably in the last 10,000 mi. or so. Thanks again!
