Erratic Cruise Control

My truck has the OEM cruise control and lately it has started to act erratic. When engaged it hunts around(+/- 1 or 2 mph) and makes quick little changes to the throttle-like it's too sensitive. This erratic operation yields a rough ride & makes it unbearable to use.





I've looked around under the hood for cracked vacuum hose or a kinked servo cable to no avail. Today I crawled underneath ('93 350 2wd with Getrag 5 sp) and found the speed transducer-I didn't realize this truck has an electronic speedo! The transducer was loose on the angle drive & there was some oil inside the electrical plug-in. I'm hoping that this might have been my problem but I haven't had a chance to try it yet.





I was wondering if there was a sensitivity adjustment for the cruise control on these machines. Appreciate any advice/recommendations.

Problem Solved

Drove the subject truck to work this morning and the erratic operation seems to be gone. Thanks for listening & the reply!
