2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Erratic Gauges.

Today my trans temp gauge was running at 180 in stop and go traffic not towing. Outside temp was about 85. All of a sudden it jumped up to 220 and then back down instantly. I remember my fuel pressure gauge doing something similar awhile back. Has anyone had a similar problem?When I stopped I checked the trans dipstick and the fluid wasnt even warm which makes me think the 180 reading wasnt correct. Your thoughts?

loose connection, probably ground or power lead to the gauge - MHO - been dare dun dat . . .
