Erratic oil pressure gauge

Every now and then, the stock oil pressure gauge will bury itself in the 'H' portion for a few seconds and then return back to normal. Is it time for a new sending unit? Probably will be installing another aftermarket gauge for a more accurate reading. Is an 80psi sufficient?

Yes it sounds like the sender heading south. Check the wire connection first though before you go nuts... make sure it is clean and tight.

Yes an 80 psi gage should work.
