This is my first thread so bear with me. Where to start… The overhead has been displaying “CCd” for some time now, so I figured I would check to see if any codes had been recorded. And this is what I got…

P PCU

P 0500

P 1693

P ECU

P 0522

P 1693

P 0234

I’ve been doing some searching but I’ve found a lot of different things and I could use some of your opinions. About a month ago the CCd had started to get fairly constant and my fuel mileage dropped like a brick from 20/21 to 16/17. Also when I get on it, starting at about 2400 all the way to the redline the engine feels like it is missing, a little sporadic I guess you could say. I can feel it but I don’t see anything out of the ordinary, i. e. on the gauges or white smoke.

For starters, from searching I’ve found the 0234 to be an overboost signal. Should I replace the MAP sensor or could there be problems elsewhere? If my ECM thinks it’s seeing a lot of boost is this why my mileage went down the crapper?

Second, the 0522 from searching is the oil pressure sending unit. This makes sense because my gauge used to move but today I noticed it built 40 pounds… while I waited for the “Wait to Start” light to go off. Then the whole way home it did not move at all. 40 pounds… at idle and all the way to 2500 rpm. I think I’ll be replacing the sending unit soon. Do you guys agree?

Last is the 0500 and 1693, from searching it appears that this could be my injection pump. Should I have a dealer check it out and try get all these things replaced. I’ve got another 8000 miles/7 months left on warranty. or should I replace the MAP and oil-sending unit first. Or could these all be from an injection pump going south.

And do I have to put my exhaust and stock air box back in for warranty. What about the FASS and gauges, they’re not really removable.

Somebody point me in the right direction.

P PCU - Start codes from Powertrain Control Unit (PCU)

P 0500 - No Vehicle Speed Sensor signal

P 1693 - DTC detected in PCM/ECM (usually displays when you have another code)

P ECU - Start codes from Engine Control Unit (ECU)

P 0522 - Oil Pressure Voltage Too Low

P 1693 - DTC detected in PCM/ECM (same as above)

P 0234 - Turbo boost limit exceeded

The vehicle speed sensor could be something as simple as having just spun your tires which will sometimes set it. As long as your speedo isn't acting up, you're probably OK.

The turbo boost code could either be a bad MAP sensor that is incorrectly reading boost. Or it could be a malfunctioning wastegate that is allowing too much boost. With no box on your truck, you shouldn't see too much over 20psi.

The oil pressure code is probably a bad sending unit.

As for the CCd on the overhead, that's signalling that the overhead console isn't getting signals from computer on the CCd bus (Chrysler Collision Detect). I've seen this when I had a bad instrument panel, but it could just be a short in wiring to the overhead.
