I am periodically getting a P-0234 error code (Over Boost). I am running with the Edge EZ and Boost elbow and wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. Is there a way to reset the code other than take it to the Stealer and let them know that I'am running the Edge and elbow?

You can probably unhook the batteries for a little while and that should clear up the code (although it will stay in the computer as inactive).

But if you keep getting overboost codes with the EZ, I'd check to make sure you have a good connection at your MAP sensor. The EZ should be clipping the voltage to prevent the computer from seeing the higher than normal boost. If you have a solid connection, you may want to get in touch with Edge as the boost module portion of the EZ may not be working correctly.

Thanks for the reply Justin. I have had to disconnect the batteries a couple of time to reset the check engine lite. I think I remember somone talking about putting some kind of contack cleaner on the connectors, I'll do a search and see what I find...

Disconnecting the batteries will clear up the Check Engine light, but the code will stay visible through the odometer window for something like 40 start cycles. After that it will move to inactive.

Try to clean up the contacts and make sure that none of them are bent. I've also read that you can use some dielectric grease in the connection to ensure good connectivity and keep the elements out.

You can't

ET,

On the early 99's you can not bring the ECM codes up on the ODO. Mine is an early 99 and you can't check codes with out the diagnostic tool. :(

Darrell

Maybe not

Mine was hatched on 7/28/89 so it's an early bloomer your's might be old enough but I can't remember the proceeder for checking the codes. :(

Somebody will know though:)

If you don't have the map sensor connectors hooked up tight you can set a light and put your truck in limp mode. That is what I did the other day when I took my Comp box off and then forgot and tried to drive to the store... what a pig it is in limpper mode... .

what does p ecu mean??

I just ran out and tried the 3 cycle thing to see my codes.

I got one that says p ecu

Then it says p done

Anyone???

Try pulling your battery cables off for a few hours or over night. Then check the codes again. It is quite possible that you had a code set a while back and its still there. I think the P-ecu and P-pcm are for when the ecm looses comms with the units. It does not mean you have a problem.
