Hello members,
ESPAR agreed to a pretty good deal on their heaters for the TDR, offering up 300 at a very good price.

I just asked ESPAR how it was going and their response indicated that the orders have not justified the extra effort they put in to support this TDR deal.

If you are new and have considered the ESPAR heater as an option, check the archives or drop me an email about this.

If you did buy an ESPAR on the offer, consider yourself fortunate as I doubt they will do this again.

"· The offer stands until March 31, 2000.
· By completing the Installation Manual Critique form that will be Included with the installation kit, your name will be entered in a prize draw. There will be 5 prizes awarded. You can choose to get an additional free heater kit or the cash equivalent. Participants will have until April 30, 2000 to submit the Installation Manual Form"

I have one already and have used it over this winter. Very much worth it. But I also had the idea that I wanted the truck the way I wanted it. That included climbing into a warm cab and never scraping windows. There should have been a good response up in the notheast and the west/upper midwest cold areas. But some of us do not mind scraping windows- I am not one of them. One note- They used a previous post of mine as a testimonial- It was a totally unsolicited post and I previosly paid more for the kit and the remote than the deal that is available. Also I do not know why the shadetree mechanic would put one in down where people do not know what window frost is. This is the most usefull up here. I previously had a 5. 9 gas motor in a 2500. Its heat came up slow compared to a 4-banger car. The diesel heat takes forever without help.

Sorry David it does not get cold enough on this side to justify me getting one, but Igive you a thumbs up for your leg work.

I got mine David and I thank you and Espar for putting this together. If anyone is wavering and thinking they'll get one later, you better not wait. I don't think you'll ever see a better price!

I called Espar today too. Seems you have to talk to "Dave" for a credit card order. He leaves at 4:00pm EST. Will call tomorrow @ work.

One of the main reasons for purchasing an Espar Heater is no electrical outlet to plug into at work. This should be the solution #ad

Don't forget to get the installation report submitted back to ESPAR by 4/30 to be entered in the multiple drawing for a cash rebate or a second ESPAR. See the president's letter via my website link.

How much did you guys get charged for you Espar Heater, remote and shipping? My credit card says $1,107. 88 total? I thought it was $899 + $85 remote and roughly 20 bucks for shipping. Do they charge tax or something?

Confused #ad

Give David a call at ESPAR if you are concerned. He can be reached via the number on one of those web pages.

The number sounds like what I heard, but now that I think about it, you are right it sounds like tax.

Hmmmmm They don't do much mailorder stuff, perhaps an oversight.

David,

I just noticed. Did we order our heaters out of Canada? Espar is based out of Canada I think. Maybe there is some sort of "duty?" when purchasing from canada? They didn`t sound french to me over the phone. . #ad

I called Espar when I got home from work, but they are closed for the weekend.

COD charge $11, plus freight, and I believe a "custom's broker" charge. Package is shipped from Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
