Just returned from Anchorage where I picked up my Espar heater. I wish I had it hooked up as it was 35 below in Glennallen as I drove thru!!!!

The dealer there gave me a decent discount and threw in the remote. If anyone is interested, email me and I will forward info, as he says he will give the same price to other TDR members!

I will be waiting till my 54 gal. Transferflow tank arrives so I can do the install at the same time, although it isn't like me to be efficient!!!!:)

Remote

The part # is CA1 00 150 for the remote.

I was told that the kits have been changed . They changed the fuel pickup and the way it taps into the coolant lines. These changes are to make it easier to install into the 2001 and up. You need a 40mm(1 9/16) hole saw for the install.

Yup, it's the same

Yes, the previous kit used two Y adapters to splice the coolant lines coming from the Espar to the feed and return lines on the heater core.

The new arrangement is to just splice the Espar into the feed line to the heater core.

I suspect that the new arrangement improves the circulation to the block, albeit most of it must be around the heads. It should be better than the old arrangement in that regard. The old arrangement probably guarantees that the heater core circulation isn't reduced by the Espar coolant pump when it is off--they probably figure this isn't worth worrying about any more.

In the even older kit, the inlet line for the Espar was tapped off the bottom of the block!
