ETC ETH Motors

I see motors that are sales code ETC ETH (or something), may need a reflash. Where do I find these codes?

Valve cover, driver's side - on mine (04. 5). There's a sticker with engine manuf dates, codes, ratings, etc.

I saw that. So many numbers and letters I'm not sure what group to look at.

ETH = high output (305 hp)

ETC = standard output (235 hp?)

I thought I was looking for a date made with ETH. I guess what you are saying is any high output may need reflash. So what about 325? And I saw ETH for 05. 5 to 06. 5 trucks I thought. Maybe only 05 trucks??

I think all 305/325 engines are considered to be HO's with the ETH sales code.

What I was looking for is the motors that may need reflash for diesel milage and white smoke. I keep reading look for ETH ETC??
