Been doing a LOT of reading of old posts because I'm trying to justify buying stage II injectors. This is what I've seen:

1. Those guys running 4. 10s seem to see mileage increases when running stage II or IIIs.

2. Almost everyone who runs 275s seems to have seen an increase in mileage. (But I want more than just 30 or 40 extra HP)

3. ETHs, ETCs, Manuals, Autos, all seem to respond differently to IIs and IIIs as far as mileage. (maybe it's just their right feet:D )

Have any of you HO guys running DDIIs with 3. 54s seen a MPG increase/decrease? What other bombs do you have?(I'll be running an EZ, 4" exh, and Con OFE)

Silver, i just put DD2 in my truck two weeks ago. i have a banks powerpack with the big hoss box and i am running the injectors. the injectors dont seem to run good with the particular box that i have, but i will say i saw the best milage with the combination. i was just seeing over 24 mpg on the interstate, that was in 4wd when i traveled from Richmond to Charlotte. I would recommend the DD2. i am getting ready to get the DD UFM to run with the injectors. I think that running the Big hoss box that banks make was a little more that i needed for all the time driving, i needed something that i could adjust or just turn off. as far at EGT, i have not had a problem. i have not been able to WOT because i have a lot more that the stock clutch can handle. i am getting ready to order my clutch as well.

Silver,

I am running pretty much the same combo you will be. I have had my DDII's in for almost 1 yr now. I checked my mileage on a long trip, shortly after installing the injectors, and I hand calculated an average of just over 20 mpg @ approx. 70 mph. I haven't checked lately to see if that figure has gone up or down, however.

milage

When you start bombing, fuel mileage is all relevant to your right foot. Some people may see a increase, Some don't.

When people talk about 4-5 mile increase per gallon, I tend to believe they are watching there overhead trip computer.

When bombing begins (injectors- fuel box) the trip computer is wrong when it comes to mileage

NXS,

you are completely correct. before my EZ averaged between 17 an 18 MPG figured by hand. The trip computer consistently read about 0. 6 MPG less than I was actually getting.

When I installed the EZ, my mileage went up about 1. 5 MPG figured by hand. But now the trip computer reads about 0. 2 MPG more than I'm actually getting.

thats almost a 1 MPG difference in readings from the trip computer.

BTW I drive the same route every day, on the same freeway, with the auto pilot set on the same speed. (about 100 miles/day) So I feel my MPG increase is not due to changed driving habits.

Anyway, keep the posts coming guys...

I have DDIII's, and certainly didn't notice any decrease in mileage. I don't keep tabs on the around town numbers, due to the heavy foot, but on trips I get anywhere from 18 to 20ish MPG, depending on, traffic, mood, cops. :D I'm sure I could get alot better mileage, but I can't seem to be able to drive 70, ever.

I have DDIII's, 3. 54's, EZ, TST Comp, and 315 75 16 tires, and a 6-speed.

BTW, I first bought a diesel for mileage, and ease of maintenence, but now I have it just to haul arse! So mileage is not at the top of the list anymore. ;)

No increase in mileage, but...

I'm still getting around 15mpg as I did before I BOMBed, but I keep my foot in it. My truck weighs about 9,800 lbs with tanks topped and me/wife. Acceleration is scary fast. Sound is awsome! :D

Can you tell I love it?

See my BOMBs in my sig, and in truck profile.

I went 12,000 miles, absolutely bone stock. I got exactly 16. 0 MPG towing light, or running empty, flat land, hills, etc. .

At 12K miles, added DD3's, EZ, 4" exhaust, and K&N filter. Mileage went up to anywhere from 17. 5 to 19. 2 MPG, depending on terrain. I got 19 MPG when cruising Calif central valley where there are no hills to worry about, down to 17. 5 going from home to work, which is up and down Sierra Nevada foothills from Placerville to Sacto and back.

I can't say if mileage improvement was from injectors only, boxes only, or combination of both, but I did get a small improvement :)

I upgraded from the EZ to a drag Comp about 8 months after I got the EZ. Still see same mileage. I drove the EZ on most aggressive setting always, Comp is on 2x3 unless at the drag strip.

I dynoed in January 2003 at 439 HP with the Comp on 5x5, and 345 HP with the Comp attached but turned off. :D

Couldnt agree more! I bought my truck for milage, quad cab, its absolute beauty and to tow my race car and all its junk. But now I find myself on TDR all the time I want to put every spare penny in the CTD and I havent touched the race car in about4-1/2 months. Priority change??? I still love drag racing but find myself hateing Power Chokes more than ever... . before I didnt care now I want to wee on their hoods. :D

I have dd3's & lost about 35-45 miles to the tank while towing compared to just the comp box. I tried every combo setup with the comp on or off while using the 3's but I just cant get those miles back.

Now regular driving styll seems the same mpg. With the bloddy price of diesel, I may just drop back to 2's or the stockers.
