AH64:
I am in agreement with the carb cleaning with those hours on it. As I mentioned before, letting ANY generator sit for too long is not a good idea. Especially when they may be needed in hurry and you find out it won't start. Not a good thing. Running them with a good load on is what they need about every two months at a minimum too.
About it overloading... I have only had one problem with that. I bought the paralell power kit for mine to use on my camper which connects the two EU200i's together and synchronizes the output. It comes with a 30 amp twist lock access plug that accomodates my camper power cord so I don't have any cord resistance to worry about that would add any load. According to the literature, I should have 4K output. What I did not consider is the start load. The capacitor starter on the AC unit just bogs it down. It will overload one generator, kicking it offline but not the other. My AC unit pulls 3200watts when running but starting it up is another matter. I found out from a friend that I needed to turn off my refrigerator and open the battery switch so the power inverter/charger is not kicking in charging the camper batteries. When I did this, the generators were able to start the AC unit but with a struggle. Once running, the generators were able to keep the AC unit running. I am now wondering if it is even enough for that and am worrying that possible lower wattage running the AC unit may cause some brownout type damage to the motor. Electricity is sneaky huh? I still love my Honda generators though. Was cosidering buying the EU3000i but was too heavy and bulky so I settled for the two smaller ones. Sorry so long a reply.
