POS @$&*! Dodges these days. I HATE them but not as bad as Fords and GMs. #@$%!

Well, sad to say my truck has probs. Is it me? Mabey. But here is how it all goes.

When I first bought the truck I LOVED it#@$%! Worked fine! for a while. @ about 30K the thing wigged out! Sometimes noral but other times I cuold tell "IT" was going to happen. What "IT" was? Dunno, but what it did... ...

When I started the truck, right off I knew "IT" would happen cause the truck sounded difernt, it ran different (more power, but that was OK:rolleyes:) and the EB worked like a dream. But on with the "IT" under heavy acceleration (like i stole it:-laf) suddenly STALL, eng sounds like a tractor, face meet windshield. Well I took it in and they did they G30 recall. was throing P2262 and another (something about torque or performance, dont remember) Well the recall didnt help just robbed me of that long lost power it had when it was new. so. . brought it to another dealer (and this time a 5 star if that means anything anymore) showed them the problem and had a new turbo before monday! THEN... . 2 about mabey 45K the elec 4x4 freeked out. When I switch the knob all the power (elec) fluctuates to everything... . radio, gauges, A/C, ECM!, radar detector, power outlets... EVERYTHING! Yeh it chucks codes... P2509-ECM power intermittent and anonther one about -lost comunication with TCM. So back to the dealer. OUCH they replaced the T-case acuator and checked all the wiring (3 times) and updated ECM (there went 20 MPG that I was getting IF i was faithful)for $500 and didnt fix the problem (and its still not fixed) And btw that doesnot happen all the time only sometimes, other times it works fine.

And Then... just drivin on the freeway 75+ MPH pulling and empty trailer (2. 5K lbs) Power drops (engine) and exhaust filter full message shows up first at 80% and before 1/2 amile it was up to 100%! so i pull over. Before i get the truck stopped it is back down to 70%! then regen complete! So away we go! Happens every now and again.

BUT NOW... . 56K and wont drive worth @$%#&*! smokes like a freight train! cant even go over about 10 MPH, drinks the fuel, shifts crappy..... Codes: P 242F, P1451, P0471 (Exhaust Pressure Sensor Range/Performance?), P0106 (Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Range/Performance?), P0489 (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Control Circuit Low?), and P2299 (Brake Pedal Position / Accelerator Pedal Position Incompatible?) No I dont drive with 2 feet and yes the lightning/throttle light do come on. Dealer says P242F is new DPF and P 1451 goes along with it.

Does this all add up? This last problem started before I took it in for the 4X4 so thats why they updated the ECM then. I wish I could love this truck but its real hard right now-it left me stranded in -25F with anti gell so dont now if thats the problem. so any help, advice whatever let me now

:mad::confused::{

P. S. its an '08 6. 7 4X auto

give it back while you can . your driving style and this truck don't mix. can you say lemon law. Dodge hasn't cured their problem yet , I don't think. Probably won't before it crashes

My truck and many others are troublefree. I don't see any problems that Dodge/Cummins have not corrected with software updates and a few turbo cleanings or replacements.

I think it is fair to say that some people have better luck with their trucks than others.

HBarlow,

Yes ,there are many trucks working properly. Be glad yours is one of them. I'm getting discouraged with mine. It just hit 23000 miles and it has had the following problems : clutch replaced, turbo replaced, wiring shorted-ended up replacing two wiring harnesses,2nd turbo replaced(lasted 1500 mi. ) The truck is not dependable. My truck has been in for warranty repairs Sept. ,Oct. and Dec. My old '99 with 238000mi. was dependable. My '05 has never been in the shop. My '07 can't begin to hold a candle to my other trucks.

Jim

Mine seems to be working fine. I've had no problems at all in the last 35,000 miles. I have had a few problems but nothing like what some people have. I just get in it and work it. Got in this morning at 4 AM, I'm not afraid to go anywhere at anytime with it. I've got over 185,000 miles on it now, most of those miles have been pulling a 40 ft gooseneck. To me, the harder I work it the better it does.

... . well i've only passed the 14k mark not long ago,but i must admit the truck has been trouble-free... . i use this one almost exclusively for towing my 5'er... . perhaps that has helped !!!... . if fuel prices continue to fall, currently around $2. 39 gal... i may commute with it once a week though that would mean parking on the streets of D. C. at night!

At least it would be exercised a bit more than usual.

Best of luck to you with your's!!!..... tom

p. s. my commute is about 70+ miles round trip...

Jim,

I'm not at all surprised to hear that you have had a clutch replaced. I have long-believed and occasionally said here that the dual mass flywheel assembly that is now used with the manual six speed is a poor design and likely to cause trouble. I am sorry to hear that you've had other problems as well.

Try not to get discouraged. Hopefully with software upgrades and the new turbo your problems will be behind you.

I sincerely believe that the numbers of trucks that have experienced troubles have been relatively few since the software reflashes were developed for the early '07. 5 models.
