Florida RV Supershow 14-18 Jan

Howdy;

For those that don't know me, I'm Josiah Loverin, the President of the SouthEastern TurboDiesel Registry. I'm in the process of setting up an event. The folks at Suncoast Converters are happy to open up their shop for a get-together. The Date is set for Jan. 17th (Saturday), with a possibility of some stuff on the 18th. Right now Suncoast is working on a BBQ, a auto transmission/Torque Converter seminar, David Dunbar has agreed to bring down his Mobile Dyno that was such a big hit at Munice and other events around the Southeast. Joe at Suncoast is also working on getting a local 1/8th mile track to open up early for us (on the 18th). I'm sure Jeff Garmon can be talked into bringing his Drag Truck down to show off (alas the 12Valve Dakota had an "incident" involving a stuck throttle pedal, a curb and a bunch of trees a few months back and is no longer with us :{ ).

I am told there are a few Campgrounds near Suncoast in the Fort Walton FL. area, even one just a mile away. For those not up on your Florida geography, Fort Walton is about 20 miles East of Pensacola, in the western tip of the Panhandle and on the Gulf Coast.

Please let me know if there is any interest in this event. There's plenty of time to get all the details ironed out, but I just wanted to give y'all a heads-up.

What? Nada? Two weeks and I've had one e-mail, and he was a "maybe".

Even if it's just 8-10 of us sitting around eating BBQ and BSing, it's gonna be worth it.

See some of y'all there.

sounds great. I would make the drive over, especially for a chance to dyno. I will spread the word around to see if I can drum up some interest.

BigUgly,

I know it would be off topic, but for a little more quick exposure you might want to put a blurb about it in the 12 valve and 24 valve sections about the get together with a link over t your thread here.

I will go, especially if the BBQ is good and I can learn more about how to modify my truck. I hate my auto transmission.

Hey Josiah,

This is Jack from Mississippi - I met you at Jeff Garmon's place a while back on a dyno day event when Jeff worked on my truck.

I'd be more than willing to make the trip.

I have some family not far from there I have been meaning to see for quite some time. It would be great if I could visit with them and make it to the event. Unfortunuately my schedule doesn't allow me take off for the weekends :(

Well I really wanted to go to a TDR event, and I think I've managed to miss a few that have been closer to home but what the heck, if this is a go, I could miss a day of work and make it. Never seen that part of the world anyway.

Displaced Alaskan;

Drop bye www.setdr.org sometime. We seem to have an event near Atlanta every other month or so. Jeff Garmon's Diesel Shop is just down the I-75 in McDonough Ga, we often meet at his place on Saturdays.

Josiah;

I had not followed the SETDR for about a year and was only looking at the second generation forums on the TDR and missed allot . Now I try to check most of the forums every day or so. I'll add the SETDR site to my list of things to read. I found out about the November event at Garmons on the following Monday or Tuesday. The wife says that I need a hobby to get me out of the house, well I can't think of a better one than my truck. Heck with a bit of time maybe this newbie might be able to talk diesel. Hope to meet you and the other folks who plan to attend the Florida event. And of course, I don't plan to miss another in the Atlanta area.

Troy

Jim,

You can sign up here by just putting up a post. We will dyno as many as we can but those that get on the list will be first up.

Thanks,
