Diesel Drag Races!!!

Does diesel 'explode' in a diesel engine cylinder?

I certainly did today.

I headed to the local auto parts store, neglecting to notice it was after 5pm, I live in a rural, farming community.

I pulled into their entrance, to find it blocked by a rollback. I manuevered the best I could, but was still slightly pointed in the wrong direction. Speed limit is 50 or 55 and it's on a blind curve. I waited until there was no traffic, started to pull out and saw a motorcycle rolling up quick.

I nailed it, forgetting I have my comp box stacked with some new beta stuff.

Yeah, that thing got sideways, and me, forgetting what I had on tap, WAY BIGTIME over corrected. Funny how things happen in slow motion. I got to see the guy on the bike and even had time to realize it was a friend of mine, then I saw the telephone pole and ditch and started thinking "this is gonna hurt", then, because of my superior vehicle handling skills, I ended up parked perfectly on the shoulder of the road. Of course it was on the wrong side of the road facing oncoming traffic, but it was stopped!

Shew. There were two kids skateboarding in the auto parts store, they were laughing there heads off. :-laf

Just glad no one got killed or hurt and my truck survived. There was white smoke, black smoke and a whole lotta rubber layed down. The truck stalled too.

I don't have problem with how much power I have when I'm in my truck it is more how much power I don't have when I'm in the Jeep or my wife's 4 cylinder Camry.

I drive a four cylinder 2. 3 Ford Ranger much of the time. It gets up to "about" 50 MPH in top gear on the long hill climb to work. The Silver 92 Dodge will easily see 60/65 in "D" and when I reach over and push "OD" it shoots up to 80 MPH in a hurry. I don't normally like to travel that fast in horse/buggy and dear country @ 5:45 in the morning. :eek:

Yes, I have gone sideways on wet pavement accelerating from a red light turned green. It scares the stuffing out of me. :eek: My wife has been in the truck with me and she... ... ... ... ... ... . I won't go there. :-{}

The 1990 has no OD and the engine will scream at 60/65mph so it's a little easier to keep under control. She drives that one. :)

The cure for the "low power guys" :rolleyes: is to drive a 2. 3 four cylinder for a week or two. You will appreciate your current power level ten fold. :p
