I've bought and sold many items on the TDR Classifieds

I agree with Rusty, I sent items before getting payment with zero problems :)

i'm gonna give the kid about a week to a week and half to get them sent right now (he says that he's gonna send them now). if i haven't yet received them by that time, i will certainly release the hounds. Oo. or just PM me now.

Yep! Big time, The guy I bought my first 1990 Dodge Cummins from.

I've never seen a post from him here, but he showed me one of his TDR magizines when I bought the truck, that is how I first found out about TDR. Thats all I could thank him for.

He is a mechanic and hid many items like replacing a seal in the steering gear but having a worn shaft so it lasted only a few days.

Front Brake disks machined way below min. specs. Hidden wiring problems patched together cheeply. Totally shot suspension.

He is a good lier/salesman and I was DUMB as hell and just "had" to pay top dollar for a shinny 1st Gen truck! Not A good combination.

There were more issues and more to this story. The bottom line is it cost me a lot of money to make the truck right. "meticulously maintained" was in his add, "Deceptively misrepresented" was more to the point! Live and learn.

Yeah, I bet the TDR gatherings were a blast before we showed up on the scene.

Pre-young punk TDR

"I say old chap... . would you mind passing me that crescent wrench?"

Post-young punk TDR

"Quick! - get a floor jack!..... We gotta help this guy burn the tires off his pimped hoopdee station wagon!!"

Well I guess I am going to get beat up by some big boys over $70. Man I hope I don't have any hot dates soon. No in all seriousness. I am the no good bast@rd in this situation. It is 100% my fault. I screwed up, I should have sent those stacks a long time ago. I get one day a week off (work 50 hours at my landscape bus. and I am a fulltime student) and I have so many things to do on that day as far as keeping everything running and supplies I always forget about the stacks. But no excuses I am still the no good bast@ard. Tom sent me CASH very quickly and held up his end 110%. I apologize for giving the TDR a black guy, I know how it feels to get screwed. I once bought a '99 DC w/ a cracked block. I have sent the money, and I hope Tom will post when he recieves it.

One other comment about a post:

The only screwing I have received is from a couple of supposed quality shops here that well cost me big time but I also hear one of these boys has lost one of his race toys in a crash. what goes around comes around. So maybe you should just let nature have its way.

I think that you are mistaken about the diesel shops. Southern Truck Parts is the place that is screwing people and not living up to their "warranties. " Jeff Garmon just wrecked his cummins dakota, but he has never screwed anybody. You can call me out, but I think you are mistaking Garmon's Diesel for Southern Truck Parts. Jeff has always told me the truth and even offered me his tools and advice to rebuild my motor to save me money.

And to those that are coming to get me... . hope yall got some nitrous.

Thank you for owning up to your mistake. I am one who makes a commitment, I get it done ASAP. But every once and a while, for whatever reason there is something that I just keep spacing out on and blacken my own eye. I know what it's like to be too busy. Between work and my 'ol ladys "honey do" list, I won't see daylight until sometime in the spring of '05.

If you are referring to Jeff Garmon, he has never screwed ANYBODY. I know for a fact me and Rick will have some words with anybody who says otherwise. He is always willing to to bend over backwards to get the job done, and won't charge you for what you don't need.

Now if you have him confused for Southern Truck Parts, you need to come out and clarify that point. If you are convinced you have a problem with Jeff, come to his shop November 1st, and you will find about 20 guys who will stand behind his work.

Whoa. First time I have heard about this.

What happened? Where? How?

Any details?

Merrick Cummings Jr

Merrick,

He was giving a customer a test drive (something he was always willing to do, no matter how busy), and somehow the fuel pedal got stuck wide open and he couldn't press the brake pedal. He was coming around a curve to his shop, lost control, spun and rolled. Truck was total loss, save for the engine, which has been pulled out and taken back to Jeff. Jeff and the passenger were both unharmed, which is in itself a testament to seatbelts.

I'll try to post a pic from another site.
