Sitting at a light, foot on the clutch pedal, pedal's on the floor. In 2nd gear on a 6 speed and the clutch began to release by itself. BY IT'S FREAKIN' SELF! Truck started to creep forward. I had to shut the engine off, and horse it into neutral, then restart the engine. It tried to do it a few more times. Clutch master cylinder reservoir if full.

Any ideas?

slave/master cylinder assembly is bleeding off internally. Time for a new one, or your pressure plate or throwout bearing in your clutch is malfunctioning but not as likely

How many miles? Any mods? Bigger clutch?

Supersonic:

41K miles. Bone stock. except for the rear-end. It sticks out to the left about 3/8" but the truck doesn't "Dog track". Thanks for the reply.

The master cylinder if full. I guess that's the culprit. It's intermittent, though. Can't depend on when it'll cwap out.

Save yourself the hassle and change em both, the Factory kit does not require bleeding, which can be a real PITA on these things.

Yep - had it happen about 3 months ago. Definitely is a high pucker factor incident.

Like Supermod56 said, get the factory kit and solve the problem in 30 minutes. If you get the aftermarket parts (NAPA is a favorite) then you will be bleeding it for the next 6 months since there aren't any bleed valves on the setup (the old tap the line and watch the bubbles go up trick).

I saved my old setup and figure someday I'll try to swap out the master cyl and bleed it for a spare.
