I agree. The knowledge on this site and the HUGE magazine are well the money. I wonder when the new issue comes out. Heck, I don't even own a Cummins at the moment but my day is coming. :D

I felt at home pretty much from the time I joined up. Congrats jlasich on the new 600. Those 7. 3 PSD's are good trucks but I definitely think your steppin' up. I heard someone say one time "if ford would get the cummins, man they'd be king of the hill!" I said yeah maybe but they could only offer it with the 4x4 'cause their ain't no way that twin I-beam could hold that 5. 9 up without wearing front end parts in a big way! The SD Ford 4x4's with a Cummins conversion make a heck of a truck though! I love my 04 and I'm sure love yours. Good truckin' to ya!

Still waiting for my 2004.5 in Juneau AK

Reading the posts here at TDR help pass the time waiting for my truck.

I know more about this truck than the dealer, although I understand THATS not hard to do.

I appreciate being connected.

Thanks EMD-Run8. I agree. I think I'm definitely stepping up by stepping out of my PSD and stepping into a Dodge Cummins. I have always been a HUGE fan of the Cummins and wish I had bought one back in '01 instead of the PSD. The PSD hasn't given me any trouble but it's just not the same. I talked to my dealer yesterday and got a shipping date of Feb. 23. She said it usually takes about two weeks to get to the dealer. So, I'm down to 4 WEEKS. :D I can't wait!:D

I joined before ordering my current truck... ... thanks a million for all the advice. I too find that routinely my knowlege gleened from the board here is far above and beyond the dealer. I am now waiting for my new one to be built and visit the 3rd gen posts 4X a day.

I don't get a chance to offer too much advice but often share with the other local Cummins Dodge owners the things discussed here.

YOU FOLKS ARE THE BEST!!!

Being fairly new to diesel trucking (<60,000 miles) I've learned a LOT about the beast I drive. Yep, judging from what I've read, someone with 60K under their belt is still a greenhorn! We've got great members in TDR. OK... got the basics, now I'm on to BOMBING!

opjohnny,

I do plan on hanging on to this truck for a while. I do like the color. My first two CTDs were black. Nice when clean but it doesn't take long for them to show the dirt.

I wonder why Dodge stopped the color? My '86 Corvette is a clear coat bronze. GM did that color two years and stopped because of all of the re-paints they had to do. The issues was that it was a hard color to get even on the body esp under the rocker panels. I plan on hang on to the vette as well. It only has 42,000 miles on it and I have had it re-painted because of hail damage.

So am I to assume this includes me too? (didn't see any fine print that states everyone is great exept that Bighammer guy :D )

Woo Hoo Oo. I have FRIENDS.

Congrats on the new truck, MMotschman. I wish you and "Burt" many great adventures.

Did everyone get their latest issue yet? Another terrific magazine. I love all the information.

The way I have it figured, TDR has cost me a pile of money since I've joined! After the membership, slightly used comp. , pac brake, DDII's, Scotty air filter (all from TDR classifieds) and if I hadn't joined I wouldn't have also needed in near future, a SB ofe, 4" exhaust, or bigger turbo. All this stuff is adding up to..... ALOT!:--) Oh yeah, I forgot, I wouldn't be having near as much fun either. I guess it evens out after all. :D :)
