The information kit that is given when TSB 18-013-08 is done indicates that there will be notification on the EVIC that a regeneration is occuring. Has anyone seen the notification?

My assumption was the same as yours, but after reading and rereading the bulliton and the op manual. Ithink you will only see it when and if you ever reach 80% cat stat full.

That is correct, it is the same as always in that you will never see anything unless you get to the 80% full mark

????

I have an 08 and the EVIC never showed anything until it was too late--100% full and the computer "de-rated" the engine, I was only able to go 10mph. Dealer had to put new turbo on and then it still wasn't right and is in the shop for a new DPF. 4400 miles on the odo. What a POS!

That's what warranties are for, new trucks will have new bugs, fact of life, especially with all this new emissions requirements that manufactures have to conform to. I noticed your tag, why don't you go buy a 6. 4, I hear they are fantastic engines, real easy to work on too, go ask where the injection pump is on them ;)

Coalsmoke, You obviously have the one brand mentality, I have owned them all, and when I plunk down $45,000+ for a truck, I expect at the least some reliability. On my aformentioned road trip I was on a white water rafting trip (private and 17 miles from any cell phone service). In the past this is what I would have expected from Dodge, but you guys on this page seem to be so myopic and probably never venture off the pavement, so a flame out is no big deal. If I flame out on the Indian Reservation off in the boonies, this truck will never make it to the dealer, the indians will strip it and burn it. For that fact, I would rather own a GMC or Nissan or Toyota, anything that will get me back to civilization. And not to mention I can't afford to "eat" the massive depreation on a two month old vehicle that I had hoped for 500,000 realtively trouble free miles, but we're not off to a good start.

I suggest that if you wish to improve the outlook on both your life and that of your truck, you start off by seeing some professionals rather than beginning your TDR membership by insulting members on these boards:rolleyes:

I live with professional help

Coalsmoke, just admit it, 4400 miles is a little too new for this problem. Those that live in glass houses... ... ... ... ... . phxpsd

Nobody said you had to be fine with it, I'd be ****** too, I don't disagree with that for a second, I do however disagree with the way you are going about your business on here.

Who died and left you in charge. I was simply venting frustration with Dodge and after owning a flawless Ford with 200,000 miles, a Chevy 6. 5 non turbo with 200. 000 miles(not the greatest engine)I am very disappointed. I did a lot of research before my purchase and knew Ford has it's own problems now, GM has botched a good engine from Isuzu, I am very concerned with all of the "bad press" the 6. 7 is receiving here. And to top it off, I never dealt with an ego like yours on the Ford site. You truly are full of yourself and it is apparent that you have limited experience with diesel trucks.

Yeah, well in 200,000 miles my Ford 7. 3 still had the original injection pump. Not really an issue! Are any engines these days easy to work on?

phxpsd,

Most of us here would be happy to see you own another Ford or any other brand you choose.

Your attitude would/will not be missed.

Nothing wrong with being upset about a brand new truck breaking down and stranding you. Assuming that's how that brand is all the time is dumb.

I venture into some remote places, and am admittedly nervous about my 6. 7 until I get some more miles on it (900 so far). Didn't stop me from ordering it in the first place though.

I can understand being very disappointed with your truck I have had nothing but problems with my 07. 5 /6. 7 . I have really bit my tongue several times and have really enjoyed the passive support from the members here. I am currently executing Lemonlaw on mine. I can tell you that the members on here bleed cummins blood. They will also pass on extremely valuable knowledge. Myself being extremely disappointed in my truck,am certain it is a lemon. Anyways I hope your situation gets better. One thing I have learned by being a member here is people have a wide range of expectations of their trucks.

If one is really that worried about the dpf and being able to get somewhere Id suggest getting a dpf delete and quit crying about it

I for one have 135,000 on my 2007 6. 7 and would take it anywhere. Any CEL I have had are minor. Any Warranty issues were handled promptly, politely and expertly by the dealership. Only down side if you want to call it that is the oil change interval is 3500 miles due to the excessive soot contamination of the oil. I have no complaints and would do it all over again. I plan on running it for at least 1,000,000 at the current rate.
