No not the electric pull-up solenoid or the two relays. What goes on with the mechanical details inside the P7100.

Reason I ask in my truck recently went to high-idle (3,750 rpm, the governor was working to a degree) and my manual fuel shut-off cable had no effect. Raised the hood and actuated the shut-off rod my hand with no effect. This thread https://www.turbodieselregister.com/threads/wont-shut-off-engine.219601/ describes the exact problem with another 1995 truck.

So, can someone explain how two trucks had the same thing happen. Manually operating the fuel shut-off rod had zero results.

I do love my P7100 but it sure seems to be finicking at times.

I’m not a Bosch pump expert, but I have to ask the question- are we positive the pump is at fault? A Diesel can run away for a few reasons. As long as it gets a fuel source in its intake, it can happen. How’s your turbo? Is your intercooler flooded with oil?
I’ve actually personally witnessed an engine run away that had a blown turbo, and the intercooler had about 5 gallons of oil in it.

Wayne, turbo is good, shaft is tight and the it's dry from to turbo to the intake. Also, the governor did limit rpm to a non destructive level. If it'd been a true runaway fueled by engine oil, I'd most likely be looking for a engine.

No I think something is going on in the pump. Just trying to wrap my small brain around why the fuel shutoff didn't shut it down. Since the same thing happened to another member's '95 it almost seems that "somehow" there's a point that the shutoff is not able to do it's expected job either due to rpm or fuel flow. Sounds crazy when I say it (type it), hence the question.
