You need to think long and hard before you buy one... ... ... ... . will you be doing ANY further mods to your truck?

Reason, there are several different kinds and sizes available:

elbow mount, 4" remote, and I hear there are 5" remote.

I started with a turbo mount Pacbrake which was great, modified to an HX40. by by pacbrake, hello BD remote 4". works well also. Quieter than the Pacbrake also.

I looked into this matter a short time ago. All things considered I went with the Banks Brake. I got a good price from Torque & Chrome out of Huston. The Brake just arrived a few days ago. The thing is a work of art & looks like some kind of industrial sculpture. The kit looks very complete & the instructions are clear. The only item that looks "weak" is the dash mounted off/on switch. I'd like to with the nice looking Cummins shift lever mounted unit. I haven't had a chance to install it yet so I can't report on that as of yet.

A couple of other things to consider:

- do you want it controlled by the ECM or a microswitch on the pedal?

- do you care if DC/Cummins approves of it?

- will you be changing your turbo in the future?

- do you want to deal with periodic maintenance on the vacuum solenoid?

I have the Jacobs E-brake and really like it. I went with a turbo mount as I'm right where I want to be HP wise (don't need a bigger turbo at this level). This brake is approved by Cummins/DC and there is no micro switch to adjust because it hooks up to the ECM. Works for me. :D Phil
