I purchased an older model filter and located the return line into the valve cover. The blowby increased significantly and there was also oil seepage at the filter seal.
I talked to Deborah Walker at www.wefilterit.com and learned that due to the high oil pressure of the Cummins engine the filter needed a restricter orifice. This is just a small brass fitting installed in the filter inlet. With no restricter the volumn of oil flowing into the filter increased the internal pressure in the filter and also put enough excess oil into the valve cover area to increase the blowby.
I installed the restricter orifice ( it has a 1/16" hole ) and this fixed the problems. The blowby is back to normal and there is no sign of seepage at the filter seal.
My thanks to Deborah for the excellent service and a good product.
