I installed the PowerMax CR on my truck this w/e. It really works great, however, I notice that now I have much higher boost levels.
Prior to the installation (stock) I was getting between 28 and 30 on my boost gauge (after bouncing to about 34 for 1/2 a second, then settling back). Now I'm getting between 37 and 39.
The PowerMax is set to the "econ" program, power level 2, TE level 2, and boost level limit=35.
Now I get sustained 37 to 39 under WOT from 55 mph in high gear (6th) through the rpm range to the governor, topping out at over 90 mph after 6 to 8 seconds of WOT, and boost level approaching about 41 with no sign of settling back. I tested this several times, and verified the boost levels with the PMCR remote which matched my gauge exactly. I verified that the boost limit was set at 35
Is anyone else with this set-up getting these readings?
And will the extra boost pop, or shorten the exspected lifespan of my turbo, assuming no excessive EGT's?
Thanks, Michael
