do you guys have any sound clips of your 3rd gens? can't decide which muffler or resinator if any to go with. i've heard some raspy/ricer sounds and not to sure which system that is. would like a nice deep tone if possible. mine is straight 5" stacks now but want it just a shade quieter. must be getting old. (22) yeah right. also what system do you prefer, banks, borla, bullydog, mrbp, banks? i just would need the muffler/resinator not the system. keepin the stacks of coarse for awhile.

thanks

TDR member Mark Craig I think is the guy you gotta talk to. He's got a stand alone replacement muffler for the '04. 5, should have one for '05 too.

Been a while since I've seen one of these threads but I think I've got his name right. My system is almost identical to what he sells as far as sound goes. There's sound files on his site. Last I knew the muffler only was not on the site.

Quick google and here it is...

P. S. I'm in the process of downloading some of those sound clips... gotta have 'em.

there are also clips on the Diesel Dynamics website. I hear you on the noise--I am sick and tired of yelling at who-ever i am riding with

Aeroturbines sound awesome, but I think the theory about their "increased flow" is questionable.

I think out of the box the MBRP duals sound the best, but that's just me.

thanks fellas. i'll do some measuring once it warms up. sounds like you like the magnaflow, aero, & mrbp. if you get a packed muffler won't it sound thrapy compared to a chamber muffler which is deeper mellow and won't blow out. not too sure.

Or you can do what I did. I bought a Magnaflow 4" in/out straight through muffler and stuck it in place of my cat, then bought the MBRP replacement muffler and put it in place of my stock muffler. The sound outside is awesome under heavy acceleration. But at cruising speeds and towing, youd swear my exhaust is stock from the inside.
