2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Exhauast

fellas, has anyone heard of farmboy diesel. i got a message from the owner and they have really cheap prices on exhaust but i want a report.

I've heard the exhaust system prices are pretty darn good and if you get the aluminum coted one it'll last darn near forever - never have to worry about them rusting from the inside out with all the lubrication we push through the inside of the pipe - are you going 4 inch?

thats kind of where im stuck, i dont know the pros and cons of the 4" or the 5"

I went with the Magnaflow 4" SS. Used a sawsall to cut out the old and installed in my driveway with hand tools and an electric impact - just used the impact as it spun the nuts on quicker than regular hand ratchet - mad it easier to hold the pipe with one hand whre I wanted it as I zinged on the clamp nuts. As far as size, a 4" will be easier to fit than a 5". Do you really need a 5"? More money and what do you gain unless you plan on making in the 600+ hp area. MHO a 4" is fine. And if I had to do it again the money I spent for the SS system over the aluminized one I could have better put twoards bigger injectors. Once again MHO. Happy decision making . . .

Do some looking as some exhaust systems drooone a looot!! Check the MBRP and AFE systems they use a real muffler with a ceramic blanket for packing material and it kills the drone problem.

I agree with mark look around we just put the mbrp "cool duals" on the wifes pickup with 6" tips sounds good

Another Choice

Don't forget Rips 4" Allied Aluminized system either. For the price & sound it's hard to beat IMO...

I have the rips system on mine, and I love it. Fits good, sounds good, and cheap.



FWIW, 4" is required for around 350rwhp and up.

5" doesnt become useful much until the 570hp area...
