I am a new member to TDR... Great site... :D :D :D

Anyhow, I have a 1999 3500 and after reading all the posts bit the bullet yesterday and ordered K&N, DTT Conv and VB, Ultimate Comp box, DDII's, Guages... still need a 4" exhaust. I know there has been a lot of discussion this, but I would like opinions on Magnaflow, Jardine, and Jannetty systems... .

I would appreciate inputs... :)

I have the Jannetty kit and i ordered a 4" stainless tip for it from them too. I love it, no droning, easy to install and looks factory. Sounds great when you floor it. I cant speak for the other brands since i have not seen or heard them. Just dont get sucked into Banks stainless kits. Unless you plan on keeping the truck for more then 10 years and you live in a place that is really salty in the winter, it is not worth the extra money for stainless. I have seen Aluminsed steel exhausts (Like Jannetty, Jardine, etc) last 5 or 6 years, even longer and they cost HALF as much as Banks.

Hello, Viperacer I have a Stan's Headers 4" system on my 2001 ETH. This system has done just what I was hoping it would do. What I use my truck for is to tow my 10K trailer. And what I needed the exhaust to do most was lower my EGT's which it has by 150 deg,s. But what I think you are going to find is that the muffler you use is where the debate starts. How loud or quiet do you want it and how well the muffler lets the system flow out the tail pipe. The muffler is the key thing

Jardine

I couldn't be happier with Jerry Jardine his product, fit, easy install, stainless steel tip, NO drone, quieter interior, deeper tone and his prices are competitive. My system came with a 24" Magnaflow muffler. :D

SixSpeed - Did you take your truck down to Stan's and have them install it? Or did you buy it there and install it yourself? What was the overall cost of getting it done?

If it's about the same price as getting a mail-order one and doing it myself, I'd just as soon take my truck down there and let them do it.

Last I saw, the Jardine was $425 delivered. The Stans system is about 7-800, installed. Stan's

I just installed Diesel Dynamics's 4" system. It was cheaper than Janetty. No problems with install, no drone, sounds great:D

Hope this helps

ViperRacer, man you don't mess around do you :D :D You're gonna be amazed at the difference, might even like it better than your Viper! Regarding the 4" exhaust, I've got the DD model and like it very much. I do have a resonance between 1700-2000 rpm that is noticable, maybe because I've got the 4" downpipe from my HX-40, but doesn't bother me. What I'd suggest is looking for a TDR Chapter in your neighborhood and listening to a few different set-ups. It's the only way to make an informed decision I think, as much a personal preference as exhaust tone and volume is.

BTW, WELCOME to the TDR!!!!

I have the DD system, it has a drone but I love it. My only gripe is that is does not exit in the stock location for a 2001.

ViperRacer:

whatever exhaust you decide to get, make sure you leave the muffler on the shop floor when it gets put on. i had the JRE FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS BEFORE i took off the walker muffler. my truck turned heads before, now people stare!!!!!! it sounds grrrrreat. ... ... james

BD Power 4" exhaust here and lovin it. I swapped out the chrome turn down tip for a 5" straight from Geno's, really like the looks of the tip and my rear quarter panel is wearing the soot as a badge of honor, that is until I wash it off on a regular basis.

I am waiting for my 4" dynomax muffler from Jegs. I like the sound of a straight 4"system, but I am tired of having to watch the loud pedal in town. My system is a hybrid..... Stan's Headers Downpipe and a Magnaflow tailpipe with a nice 6' section of 4"straight pipe between the two. :D

The cool thing..... when I get into the fuel at low boost it sends grey smoke rings shooting out of the pipe... .

I also like the look and sound of the Jardine system. I went over and had Jerry and Matt install mine and can tell you they are some class people to deal with! I would also guess the increase in price would be for including the 5" stainless tip which looks really nice

pnwradar,

Last time I talked to Stan,he said the labor is only $45 bucks on top of the kit price. It doesn't seem worth it to me to get my jeans dirty over $45 bucks. I think the kit was $600.

I installed the Jardine system in 2 hrs 15 minutes. That includes removing the stock system, installing the Jardine system and also the 5" Monster tip from Geno's. IT BOLTED RIGHT ON! NO WELDING. It has a 30" Magnaflow muffler and sound AWESOME! No drone, just awesome sound.

It's hard to keep my foot out of it, because I love to hear that awesome sound from the muffler when the turbo spools up.

And it has a lifetime warranty!

pnwradar, I installed the system my self. I had to make up my own hangers because when I got my system from Stan's they were just getting ready to switch to a 41" Donaldson muffler and had not jigged up the pieces to just bolt it up. That was OK with me though I have the equipment to do the work. Besides I would rather weld the system together then use clamps. The system cost 575. 00 which is a little higher then I wanted to pay. But I don't mine supporting local shops. I think they wanted 150. 00 to install.

I ordered the Jardine exhaust last Friday. Looking forward to the UPS truck pulling up. Jerry gave me the same deal he was offering at Muncie. Couldn't pass it up. I also ordered the Mag-Hytec differential cover last week too. The wife's going to be *issed off when she see's her Visa bill. :) :) :) I'll just remind her of the trip she took to Palm Springs.
