I adjusted the brake to about 23-24 lbs pressure at idle. Was about 12 from the factory. Took it for a drive to the local mntns and I was impressed! It really saved the brakes in the low gears. Very practical product.

Now, If I can just find that **** rattling noise... It sounds like it could be the exhaust (not sure - just a guess), but the bolts are tight. The saga continues...

Is it the switch that mounts to the pedal? Mine rattles at just off idle,

I have a Pac Brake on my 96 automatic utilizing a mystery switch and a Pressureloc. Sometimes at higher rpms the exhaust brake will stick but will come off if I switch it off. I tow a 12,000 lb. boat over Wa. steppest mountain pass and this setup works great it really holds the truck back. What ever exhaust brake you choose it is well worth the investment.

Thanks simon, yea I went with the BD brake, and have been pretty critical in my comments about it. Have been extra critical only because thats what i'd like to read about if I was trying to make the choice on what to buy.

Actually, after getting the bugs worked out, it is a very good unit, and does what is advertized. It is kinda pricey though.

Almost went with the pacbrake, was so close, but heard the BD has slightly more power. Well, Im not sure its worth the extra bucks over yours, as everyone that posts about their pacbrake seems to be very satisfied. Just some sticking comments, but pacbrake seems to give excellent support on it.

Also, only use the brakes about half as much, so it looks like it could possibly pay for itself (in 6-10 yrs).

And the rattle seeems to be alot better than it was before, but its hard to tell if its coming from the footswitch, or outside the truck. Only seems to do it when letting off the gas to shift gears... could be the footswitch.

Just went out & mixed up some 5 minute epoxy and potted the pedal lever & the footswitch mount to make em pretty much solid mounted now. Will have to let it cure & try it out.
