Well I ordered my guages, plate, kdp kit,and ATS trans. and controller. Was going to get a pacbrake installed also but the guy at collins inj. told me I would need to upgrade the exhaust springs also to get the full use of the pacbrake. Is this true? He wanted 3,000 to do the springs, and after all I have on my plate right now I can't afford another 3,000. And yes I am doing the KDP project first, then guages, then plate, then trans. and controller. :)

Are you sure he didn't say he recommended a 3,000 RPM Gov. Spring Kit next? ... or did he add a 3rd zero to your estimate? $300 seems more in line. He surely was joking when he said $3,000... :--)

If he did really mean $3,000 you should see how fast your new goodies will take your truck in the OTHER direction!

WOW, I hope you did not hear right! The Pac Brake will work with 30lb or 60lb springs. They supply a butterfly plate for either. You will not get as much brake with 30lb springs and the butterfly with the 30lb hole in it.

$3,000, if that's the cost they are nuts. I had both exhaust and intakes replaced w/60lb springs at a dealer for 500. 00. They removed the injectors and filled cylinders w/air. since they had the injectors out and were going to replace seals, etc I had 215 HP injectors and they were done for free.

You can do them yourself or find someone who has done it before to help and it can be done fairly quickly. I recommend doing both so if you want to get 4k gsk you can w/o any issue.

I hope this is a misunderstanding, but if not he is WAY out of line.

Once again thank you guys for your responses. I love this forum thing, I am just going to have the pac brake done somewhere else. I am having him do the ATS trans level 5 installed with TC and controller for 6,000 is about normal so I didn't think that was out of line but when he started talking about another 3,000 I just told him I didn't want it. Plenty of exhast shops around here that can do the job. Thanks again everyone!

There is no need to pull the injectors. Rotate the engine and do each valve as it's piston comes up to the top of it's travel. The valve probably won't drop anyway if the seal is good.
