Exhaust Brake Install

Gonna be in Seattle area & wud like to have exhaust brake installed, any shops in the area recomended ?. . Thinkin Jacobs/Mopar or maybe PacBrake... Any guesstimates on the install price on a 2006 G56 ?

Welcome to the forum Polarbull.

You could talk to Glenns Welding (they do a ton of this stuff) in Lynnwood Wa. or you could install it yourself!

I did mine, not hard just a little time consuming. I went with PacBrake in part because it was cheaper, employed an air compressor and doesn't add any noise when it's not in use.

Thx for the welcome & the info Prairie Dog, I would do the install but I'm startin 3 month road trip in march, I left my new truck & 5er in Seattle back in Sep. So I wudnt have to haul it over Alcan in winter

Welcome: I have a pacbrake also. I don't know about the other brands but the pacbrake integrates beautifully with the ECM. When it is on with cruise control, the truck maintains a speed on it's own, uphill and applies the brake going downhill. I'm happy with mine.

I went with mopar jacobs brake,bought it through the dealer with a discount. and installed it myself with the old man. and its under warranty

on the edge about ordering a new mega cab and would go with jacobs again.

I just got (thru a trade) a new Jacobs brake for my 03 and I noticed the instructions say to remove fender liners for access. I'm a bit hesitant to go that route because I have flares installed which would make it a bit more involved. Has anybody done it without removing them? (or is it possible?)

I didn't bother to remove them. They really weren't in the way. I have had to remove the right one to get the oil filter off.

I definately recommend the PacBrake and installed it myself. Not difficult and has good directions included. I also purchased the gearshift exaust brake switch offered by Geno's for my six speed and highly recommend it.

In the directions it says something about being carefull with the gasket as it breaks easy. Think I could put a spot of glue (like 3m Yellow snot) on it to hold it for assembly?

I did not use the glue but it should not hurt. You will love the truck for towing. I ran 11,000 last summer and what a beast when it comes to the mountains in the west.
