Break in method

Have ask my dealer service manager and he said only engage exhaust brake when needed (when comming to a stop from high speeds) The diesel tech. says leave it on all the time. Who is right. When towing I have left it on full time whether in the city or on the interstate. The book give no clue on use. This is the first ram I've owned with this feature

Go with the diesel tech's advice. Leaving it on whenever possible (it's recommended to shut it off on rainy or slick surfaces) minimizes wear on the service brakes, and the constant movement of the VGT turbo's nozzle ring prevents sticking due to soot buildup.

I've been using mine for every mile driven (105k) on my current truck and also my previous '06 (230k) and '01 (325k).

Use it, that's what it is for.

Full time use of the exhaust brake function along with full throttle power exercises the variable vane turbocharger and helps prevent sooting issues.
