I have installed two exhuast brakes on the 06 Dodges, both brakes are BD Engine Brakes. I had to install two wires into the ECM (same as any other brake install on a 06) and hook up the rest of the wiring. Dodge has the ECM programming done right. It is one slick set up. Once the brake switch is turned on it "arms" the system. The brake comes on for warm up. The transmission will down shift from OD to Direct. As it down shifts it drops the brake, then the convertor, burps the throttle to raise rpm to match engine to TC speed then relocks the TC and applys the brake. This down shift happens all within a second. You can also manually down shift from OD to Direct at a higher road speed and it does the same shift logic. You can pull it into second gear and it also holds the brake. The other nice thing is the brake works with cruise control. As the vehicle speed gets to fast it will apply the brake also. The brake turns off also when you slow below 10 mph.

We've got a lot of customers with the new PXRB exhaust brake... . check it out at www.pacbrake.com its the C44045 kit..... You'll find that this kit is a lot less expensive than some of the prices quoted here... and it comes with an electric compressor so if later you wish to add air horns, or air bags it will handle those as well...

I have the pacbrake on all my trucks... . and with our 04 dually we can go down a 6% grade with 15-18 K lbs of trailer weight and the truck will handle that load without the service brake when your in the right gear.....

Installation is simple, the case elbow behind the turbo is removed and the brake housing mounts in place of that elbow... the pacbrake housing has been designed to flow more exhaust than the stock elbow for those of you who wish to turn up the HP and need more flow...

It interfaces with the ecm on the transmission and engine with no problems and won't give you any problems with warranty... if you have further questions please feel free to email me...

Hope this has helped...

I ask the dealer to install the brake. That is the one they choose. I drove from Va. Beach, Va. to Alaska last summer and pulling a 12,000 pound trailer it did just find. Now it does not engage. It has to be something simple. I can not get a wiring diagram from Banks. I must go to the dealer for help. I was in hopes I could remedy this problem. I need help in doing so.

Henry, did you mean Banks or Jacobs? Your earlier post said the dealer installed a Jacobs.

If it is Jacobs, I have a diagram or you can go to the Jake web site and download the install manual yourself.

Can I put that on my 05 48RE? Will it void the warranty?

You still have warranty?
When in effect, yes it would void it. Dodge didn't see fit to make their auto's capable until 06. However there are lots of company;s out there that can make it work great for you.
