Is anybody running a pac-brake or similar on the getrag 360? I know I'll need 60# springs and fab my own down pipe from the turbo. But will the transmission handle the reverse force? Does anyone know where I can source a pac-brake for cheap? (yea, wishfull thinking), Love My 1stgen!:) I get alot of looks when I go to town. Not to many left around here. :D

Do it

I've been running a BD for many miles now with no troubles whatsoever. My dad has run a Jacobs on his '96 and a Jacobs on his '03, both with no troubles either. I picked up a used Pac-brake for my '03, but have yet to install it, so I'll see how it works. I know that they cost a bunch but you'll never regret buying an exhaust brake. Also when I installed my BD, they make a shorter downpipe that you can purchase for that easy install.

my dad had a pacbrake on his old 97, and my crew had one when i got it. i kept it when i sold it, for later trucks to come. i agree, once you have one, youll never understand how you got along without it. i think the gutbag will take it just fine. i need to scrape up the coin and get me some valve springs so i can put this thing on.

I have the same 93 as you(3. 54getrag,power) but mine has 225k on it and not a straight body panel left. It had a jacobs ex brake that works great and im not easy on truck or transmission.

Thanks for the info everybody. I have a pacbrake on the 2000, still have the original rear brakes, second front brakes with 177,000 miles. After hearing all the problems with the 'Rag I was worried that it won't handle the pacbrake. I have a line on one for $500, just need to install the 60# springs. How hard is it to install the springs? The local diesel shop says 3 hrs. at $95/hr. Is this about right? Does it require special tools? Bottom line, could I do it myself? Thanks...
