I know that DC is not going to software upgrade the 05 48re for the Jacobs EB. Just wanted to know what the other options are right now.

I suspect your option is to look for an 06! That's what I did, although it wasn't only the EB question, I wanted to go back to a long box and I had no idea the headlights on the 05's were so bad. I went to an 05 from a Sport 01 with dual headlights, and thought I'd gone blind! I now have a 3500 06, and am very happy with it ( I can see again!)

I would like to have one too on my 05, it would be nice if TDR or some other magizine would do a nice article on this subject because there seems to be a lot of interest in this subject.

BD Power has an ebrake that works on the 2005 and BD is coming out with a solution for lockup problem in the 05. I purchased a used 05 with a BD ebrake & towloc already installed and the tech people at BD have been very good at helping me understand & use it. :-laf BD Power is a good company to go with IME. I have dealt with some really $hi##y shops & products with my last (96 CTD) so good honest service really matters to me.

The PRXB will work fine Now that PB has Programing from the CanBus,Although the greatest benefit for a EB is a Upgraded Trans.

I'm gonna guess that as soom as I install an Exhaust Brake on my 2005 48re, that I probbaly have the risk of voiding some sort of warranty. The 2005's have a 7year/70000 mile warranty, that I'll bet DC would love to get rid of.

Thanks
