The old truck had sufficient vacuum on board to handle the exhaust brake... .
The new truck, like the Ford no longer has the ability to support the exaust brake... . ON the Fords, PacBrake has decided to go with a compressor not a vac pump..... I'm expecting my first group of exhaust brakes for the 03 just after the first of the year and I'm assuming that they will have either a vac pump or air pump in the kit... ... .
I'm guessing that the dealer has been quoting you prices based on the old kit... .
When we quote for the Powerstoke or 5. 9 used in a midrange truck we always ask if there is air brakes, etc on the truck and provide the kit the customer needs for the installation... ...
've just been reading more of this thread... ..... I wish I had more time... ... . I also follow another board and just don't seen to have the time... ... .
Back on subject here..... I have just received our cost on the new PacBrake, and know that we will be selling under the $1000 price I've seen here for the other products... . I also have orders for them... ... ... and would offer this board some at a special price but to be honest... ... ... don't know if they are going to 100% fill my stock order... ... If I get all of them..... than there is some to spare... ... .
As a long time reader of the TDR but new to this board I'm still trying to learn the ropes so to speak..... I do personally have 6 trucks in our fleet that have engine or exhaust brakes on them.....
Have a great holiday..... I'm out of here... ...
