One nice thing about the electronic integration is that I don't have to be concerned if I leave it on. It wont stall the truck or anything. The brake is also very quiet, at least when the truck is empty. Waiting to get the gooseneck hitch installed, and rack up 500 pre-towing miles. Then the testing begins I did run it down one of the local mountains and in T/H it downshifted from 3-4, did its unlock, re-lock dance and required no foot brake... nice.
I didn't look very closely at the wiring. The wires run through a protective cover from the switch to the firewall. I didn't peel it back anywhere to check.
Heres a photo of the Jacobs E-brake switch for the 48re. I think it's foolish and looks out of sorts. I would prefer something like this http://www.ronthebusnut.com/detailDisp_EXH-B SW.html recessed into the dash.
