I'm installing a remote exhaust brake that didn't come with all the wiring for my application. The only thing I need yet is the switch that allows activation only when the throttle is at idle. Is that something that's available seperately, or should I start fabricating?

My Cummins/Jacobs RamBrake uses a microswitch fastened to a bracket at the front of the engine where it is actuated by the nose of the throttle lever. It is a special switch but I would think a bracket could be made that would accommodate most any good microswitch.

The whole assembly has a Cummins part # of 3804851 or a Jacobs part # 022520.

Thanks Howard, That's the information I was looking for. I'll call Cummins tomorrow.

In case I do have to fabricate something, does anyone have a picture of the microswitch and bracket they could post? That way I wouldn't have to reinvent the wheel.

Thanks,

Lynn

Lynn,

If you need pictures I can send you some via e-mail.

PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send what you need.

I haven't had much luck posting pictures here.

I had to purchase my f350 switch and bracket aside from the BD remote EBrake kit and got them directly from BD Power. The PacBrake switch looks identical.

If it helps you can look up the part numbers for the PacBrake stuff online.

PacBrake PN: C11906* THROTTLE SWITCH ASSY. (* EARLIER KITS USED C11839 SWITCH ASSEMBLY LOCATED ON THE FUEL PUMP.

USE C11911 UPGRADE KIT FOR SERVICING. )

Had to call BD Power for the part numbers of my stuff.

Since I'm quickly running up against a deadline, I just ordered the whole assembly from Cummins. I know it costs more, but it's supposed to be at my door tomorrow.

It's amazing what a difference it makes having part numbers when you call (thanks Howard!). They talk to you like you're a real person! I'm actually still waiting for two different outfits to "get back to me" after calling them last week and explaining what I wanted.
