I also went with a PacBrake on my automatic and love it. As Bill K was working on my truck, he sat me down and explained to me the pros and cons of having an exhaust brake on an automatic.

So I ended up getting Bill's Smart Controller box and the Nitrate covered Pacbrake. Boy am I loving every minute of it!!! I only use the brake for towing and have not had a problem yet.

I also went with the Pac Brake. I had problems with the under pedal switch, called the company and they sent the ECM control system..... free. No more problems. It is activated by pin #20 on the ECM.
Use it all the time. It will stick occasionally if unused for awhile.
Pac Brake is an ISO 9001 company. You will not have any problem with a company that has that classification. They are rated under a very difficult system. I went through it with the company I worked for.

Both my 94 12V and Sue's 01 ETH have PacBrakes. After a year, my 94 brake began to occasionally fail to engage in cold weather. When I mentioned the problem to a PacBrake rep at the 1997 TDR rally, the rep said that there was a bad batch of seals around the time that I bought my brake, and he sent me a replacement cylinder. It has worked fine since then. Sue's Pacbrake has been on for about a year with no problem. We use them frequently.

Both brakes produce a "moan" sound in the exhaust at engine speeds from 1200-1900 rpm with medium throttle. I think the sound is caused by exhaust gas blowing past the hole in butterfly.

FWIW: Sue's 60 pound brake has considerably more brake effect than the 30 pound unit on my truck. I plan to install exhaust springs and the 60 pound brake plug in my truck this summer.
